Pilák recreational area
This recreational area is set in a beautiful natural environment surrounded by forest in the protected landscape area of Žďárské vrchy Hills in the heart of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands and provides visitors of all ages with a wide range of options in terms of sports and recreation.
This modern recreational area by Pilská nádrž Reservoir was built on a five hectare site between 2013 and 2014. Younger children can have fun on the climbing frame, carousel, or in the sandpit, and there is also a small climbing wall, rope climbing frame and swings. Older children will appreciate the disc golf course and beach volleyball court.
Pilská nádrž is suitable for fishing as well as swimming. Water quality is monitored regularly. Several showers are available on the beach.
There is also table tennis, mini golf and other multi-purpose and grass playgrounds. You can rent bicycles, scooters, roller skates, but also boats, pedaloes and paddleboards. Handbikes for disabled children are available to borrow free of charge.
Refreshments on offer in the complex include fast food as well as full meals, sweets for children, ice cream and a range of drinks. There is seating for up to 120 people. This way, parents can comfortably refresh themselves while still keeping an eye on their children. For groups of visitors, it is possible to make special orders of refreshments on request.
Bike stands are located all over the complex and a cycle path crosses the area which is also part of Santini’s cycle route. There is also a sculpture by the local sculptor Michal Olšiakon the grounds. Since 2009 this work has symbolised the border between Bohemia and Moravia, even though it is not situated directly on the border itself. The statue of an eagle guards Moravia and the statue of a lion guards Bohemia, with a border stone between them (the actual border is approximately 80 metres away from the sculpture).
The complex was built to be barrier-free, and the sizeable car park offers plenty of parking for the disabled.
