It is not referred to as Moravian Venice for no reason and is rightfully considered one of the most beautiful towns in the Czech Republic, with burgher houses bearing Renaissance and Baroque facades. Telč’s main square is inseparably associated with shaded arcades full of cafes, sweet shops and restaurants.
Families with children can enjoy a tour of the Telč House, which will take them to a world of legends, elves and historic tales; a more recent addition is the interactive exhibition in the Holy Ghost Tower which maps different historic periods in the town as Theky relate to national and global history. Be sure not to miss the Telč Chateau.
The current appearance of the chateau was shaped in the 16th century by Italian masters who were invited by Zachariáš of Hradec, who held the domain at that time.
The beauty of the location was soon discovered by filmmakers and several fairy tales have been filmed here.
