International music festival Mahler Jihlava - Music of thousands has been held regularly in Jihlava since 2001, from May to July - framed by the months of the anniversary of the death and birth of Gustav Mahler. The focus of the festival's musical dramaturgy is the work of Gustav Mahler and the emphasis on the relationship between Czech and Austrian musical culture. Every year, the festival offers a marathon of concerts with the participation of important guests from the Czech and foreign music scene, as well as a varied accompanying program, including the traditional planting of roses in the Mahlerian rosary in Kaliště and themed trips around the Mahlerian Highlands. Concerts take place mainly in the Church of the Exaltation of St. Kříž, in the Gothic Hall of the Town Hall, in the House of Culture, in the Horácky Theater, in Gustav Mahler Park and in other places. Part of the program is always prepared in my native Kališť near Humpolka and also in other towns of the Highlands and Lower Austria.
