The rear synagogue was built sometime around the year 1669 and most of the building dates from the late Renaissance period. The main hall is accessed via three arcades. The expansion of the women's gallery took place in the first half of the 19th century. The women's gallery was accessed by a staircase, which became part of the building after the addition of Seligmann Bauer's house. Today, the building houses a permanent exhibition of Jewish culture with many valuable objects used in the civic and religious life of the now defunct Jewish community. In the synagogue, there is a 1:100 scale model of the Jewish quarter depicting its appearance in 1850.

The rear synagogue is decorated with unique murals from the early 18th century, which include ornaments, plants and liturgical Hebrew texts. The rear synagogue is listed as the oldest example of preserved synagogue paintings in Moravia. Religious services were held here until the 1920s, when a warehouse was established by Subak and Sons, who were engaged in the tanning business. From the 1950s the synagogue served as a warehouse for vegetables, mainly potatoes, for the National Vegetable Enterprise. Reconstruction of the synagogue took place between 1988 and 1997. Since its completion, tours for the public have been held here, as well as concerts, exhibitions, etc.
