The first Jews settled in Větrný Jeníkov in the Jihlava region in the middle of the 15th century when they were expelled from Jihlava. The first written report dates back to 1788, when the Jewish wine cellar was given a house number. From the second half of the 19th century, six to eight Jewish families lived in the town. The last family left sometime before the year 1924.

The Jewish cemetery is located next to the mill and was founded in the middle of the 17th century. It also served the faithful from the wider area. There are 250 tombstones in total and the oldest one dates back to 1652. On the west side are the remains of the mortuary wall.
